As always, we have delved into the details—because while having a beautifully designed helmet is important, the protection it provides is paramount. We were fortunate to spend time with the CEO of KEP to discuss safety in-depth.
Did you know that every KEP helmet includes an RFID tag that, when linked to an app, carries all of your medical details? In Italy, emergency crews at equestrian events are equipped with scanners—hopefully, the UK won’t be far behind.
When it comes to rotational falls, around 20 to 25% are forward, but the majority are side impacts. While the CE standard mandates a resistance of 640 kg of pressure, KEP helmets are tested to withstand an impressive 1200 kg. KEP helmets hold the ASTM F1163-23 SEI certification, ensuring they meet the highest safety standards.

The CROMO 2.0 model is the evolution of the Cromo helmet.
An innovative mechanical interlocking system allows the rider to replace both the front and rear inserts and the visor in just few simple steps.
The outer shell is both lightweight and resistant thanks to the polycarbonate in-moulding design.
The KEP AIR CONTROL SYSTEM is enhanced with additional ventilation slits at the back, to ensure greater breathability and better internal temperature control.
The hand-stitched genuine leather strap maintains the five attachment points for a more stable fit.
The new padding, with improved comfort and breathability, is in soft fabric made from eco-green raw materials. It can still be removed and hand washed or machine washed at 30°.
Every helmet also comes with a jockey visor. Weight: 500g - 535g
