The results from an ethological point of view, demonstrated the elimination of defensive responses from the girth, proving the elimination of pain, a direct consequence of undue pressure.
The results of the measurements of the vital signs, demonstrated the decrease of the cardiac rhythm, demonstrating the elimination of the pressure-pain.
No scientific publication has yet been made of these results. However based on all the extensive research in equine biomechanics and ergonomics from the inventor, the Freedom Girth has a strong anatomical, technical and biomechanical argument, mostly explained in detail in the digital brochure on The Centreline website.
There are persuasive arguments for each design aspect of the girth, the scope of movement of the girth, the elimination of pressure and over which muscles it is distributed to avoid high pressure areas and the release of sweat. For example the sweat marks, see The Centreline website, there is empirical proof of the concept when looking at the muscle areas directly supported by the girth, which allow free movement between them, ventilation and free circulation of the bloodstream in the area, as well as the release of pressure.
All the study, research and development conclude that the release of muscle pressure is total. Since the girth is not one piece but several parts that are independent of each other, each piece supports the correct position of the muscles of the abdomen of the horse. Contrary to conventional designs, it is not the body that adapts to the shape of the girth, but the girth that adapts to the horse’s abdomen. This girth does not impose a form that forces the abdomen to mold to it. It is a totally new design, incorporating a brand new concept into the current girth market. The Freedom dramatically reduces pressure with its separate pieces, far more than any conventional girth, which are all in one piece and whether or not they have an anatomical shape. The Freedom significantly increases the range of movement in the forelimb compared to the horse’s normal girth. Eliminating gait asymmetry by operating independently on each side of the thoracic cage.
The concept of the Freedom girth encompasses much more than the release of pressure, it is far more complex, as it seeks to deliver not only adaptability, but incorporates ventilation, circulation and independent intermuscular movements. It’s innovative functionality of separate and independent parts, requires adjustment on both sides of the horse in a symmetrical way (both sides must be the at the same hole) and with moderate pressure, much looser than conventional girths.
The Freedom girth is delivered with instructions for use, explaining how to attach and girth up, checking that it is correctly placed, by being able to put your hand in the space between the abdomen and the girth. The way of using the Freedom is completely different to conventional girths, by following the directions when adjusting your girth you will eliminate pressure exponentially from your horse, free the movements of your horse’s abdomen, stretch extremities in a unique way and your saddle will be where your Saddler fitted it to be as the girth respects the saddle’s position.
